We saw this sign at a hotel in Beijing. I had read that the government was going to attempt to curb smoking in public places starting May 1st. According to this sign, they are trying, but unfortunately the public is not aware of the new "law". I was actually trying really hard to take a picture of someone smoking right beside this sign - I'm shocked I couldn't get it!! I'm not even sure if they have explained to the public what the punishment is if you are caught disobeying!!
