They're here!!
I didn't let them rest long after they arrived! Friday morning we were out and about early going to a couple of museums in Tianjin. We first went to Puyi's mansion. He was the last emperor of China, taking the reigns at a mere three years old. His story is quite compelling. We watched a short film with very comical English translations while we were at the museum. He fled to Tianjin when he was expelled from Beijing - he determined that he would still be close enough to have some power and meet with top officials in Tianjin. The mansion was dominated by squatters for years until the Tianjin government recently refurbished it. It is a nice little retreat in the middle of the city!!
After exploring the past, we went to the China museum! It was literally a China museum, made of pieces of porcelain. I'm not sure what was going through the designers mind, but it was a very interesting place to visit.

It's always fun to have visitors because I get to explore the city all over again!! I have lots more to post, but, as usual, it will take a few days!!
